Summer of 2009 Focus on Jumano-Apache TribeThe project this year began on July 22, with an initial inspection of the tribal historian's property, available supplies, a prioritization of the needs, and discussions with community members and bridgepeople. The property houses one family, hundreds of books, innumerable valuable documents, and a relic of an old store. Since temperatures of the summer down here can easily reach daytime highs around 110 degrees, the plan unfolded as early morning and late eveningtime work on the roof (to preserve living and inaminate contents), and daytime work clearing out the storage overrunning the old store. Occaisional daytime journeys into town were essential for supplies and relief. --- More to Come --- Visit this page for a rough panorama image (from my cell phone): http://www.buildmindgardens.com/RedfordJumanoPan.jpg
